Beach bum with mum

44707D0A-614B-4606-B53C-144D47F5727B_1_201_aMum hasn’t taken me to the beach for ages so I didn’t know what was happening when she took me out the back gate and told me to wait at the car.  Nothing was mentioned until we stopped and then I smelt it – THE BEACH!  I do get taken by the Irish Aunt but it’s lovely when mum goes too.

It was a gorgeous day for it –  not too much wind which makes it chilly on even a sunny day.  I got a swim, played with the ball and inspected the piles of pebbles which have been constructed since Covid-19 lockdown.   Some are dedicated to out NHS which has coped wonderfully.  I’m glad we’ve seen them cos they will be washed away with the next big tide.

Spring-er fashion

Mum bought this reversible bandana a while ago but thought the duck egg blue  wasn’t a good colour for dark winter days when i get muddy and mucky.  Now it’s spring, she’s kitted me out with it.  Smart or what?

Meanwhile, she loves the sass of this catwalk kitty.  Can’t see either of my two strutting their stuff like this!

Social distancing party

Although we are social distancing, my mum thought it would be safe to have street party on a lovely sunny day if everyone stayed in their own front garden.  Us dogs, of course, could act as normal so Murphy and me fooled around, jumped the wall and trampled grass and plants.

Frit!

I thought I may have avoided the spring strip since there’s no-one around much to see my curly sheep look but mum was having nothing of it.  Coralled me and set to work as usual.  There was an enormous pile of fur which she put on our summerhouse roof so the birds could harvest it for their nests.

After that there was an even bigger surprise when the Irish Aunt – following all the distancing rules – dognapped me from our yard and took me to hers for – a BATH!!  If there’s one thing I like less than being washed down with the hose (cold water), it’s being hauled into a bath and subjected to shampoo and rinse.  You can see I’m frit!

A walk in the woods

Mum decided she’d had enough of our ususal lockdown route and took me to the quarry today, with a warning that I wasn’t to go near any of the big white birds (swans) cos I got a big fright once when I was honked at.

Lots of lovely smells and green things sprouting.  Mum took lots of pictures and is happy that the world is doing its thing even when Covid-19 is raging.

She also wrote a piece about the impact of the virus on our town for an old friend.
